Multiplexes face penalties for allowing under-18 audiences in

Officials are reportedly carrying out checks at multiplexes in Hyderabad to see whether the rule of not letting underage audience members watch A-rated movies has been implemented diligently or not. It's an open secret that the rule is followed in breach by everyone.
It's a rule that A-rated movies have to be watched only by adults. Those below the age of 18 are barred from watching those movies, which are so rated on account of sexually explicit content, violence, or some other adult content.
Fines are being imposed by officials on multiplexes and theatres that are violating the norm. If the cinema halls don't pull up their socks, more and more cases are going to be filed against them.
The inspections have turned out to be problematic for films like 'HIT 2', which are A-rated.
Penalties have been imposed by officials in the past on multiplexes for overcharging eatables. Usually, inspections are done for some weeks and then the guard is lowered. And it's back to square one after a while.
