Coming to Kannada after four years with some modifications this star studded film is no doubt eye opener and hard hitting. The sole intention of the film is to make the masses to get up from blind belief needed super star like Upendra style of narration. In addition to killing sweet looks of kichcha Sudeep, the film is very absorbing for the family audience. It is a sugar coated tablet for the society.
The Act of God is the primary issue that is questioned in the court of law by middle class Mukunda. He takes up the issue on his own when the lawyer fraternity goes behind. The issue is very interesting. Who should bear the losses of Mukunda after his shop is affected by earthquake. It is only his shop that is grievously affected. With nearly Rs.1 crore investments on his shop the challenge that Mukunda takes has a strong opposition from religious leaders. That is because he sues God. The entry of Murari in the life of Mukunda is even more interesting. The atheist Mukunda later transform to theist. The upkeep of ‘Sathya’ is nothing but following of ‘Dharma’ says Mukuda. How does it happen is curious watch for all those who have not seen Hindi and Telugu version of this film.
Director Nandakishor with dialogues from Yogendra Muddan has rightly adjusted to the two leading super stars of Kannada cinema Upendra and Kichcha Sudeep.
Upendra scores tremendously for his dialogue delivery style. It is a good mix of emotions in the later half from him. Upendra dialogues addressing the public to come out from superstitious belief and attacks on the religious leaders keeping the sacred books is having direct relevance to the present day society.
Kichcha Sudeep from his mesmerizing looks steals the show. His agile look, less dialogues and costumes add extra glow to the entire film. Nikita Tukral as wife Sukanya is convincing. We have such people in our society. Avinash as ‘Siddeshwara Swamy’ has given best, Jayashanker Swamiji Ravishanker has nothing more to exhibit his talent. Tabla Nani in comedy track is additional booster. Prakash Belawadi and Ashok are apt. The song situation where in Rachita Ram and Bhavana appear with Kichcha Sudeep reminds the song of Aishwarya Rai and Madhuri Dixit song Dolare Dolare….. The makeup, costume, editing gives the required effort for the film. Cinematography of Sudhar S Raj captures all angles in the film precisely. Arjun Janya has given two memorable out of three songs.
The song of Dr V Nagendra Prasad is a haunting tune for major religious followers of this country. Upendra song Dham Idre Baro Devre…is for gallery.
This is a film not to miss. You can watch with your family.
