Veteran producer-director Muktha Srinivasan is all set to make a comeback after a long gap of 25 years. He will be producing and directing a biopic on Vaishnavite sage Sri Ramanujar with a newcomer in the lead role.

Srinivasan has been in the Tamil film industry for about seven decades and he has produced and directed films with Nadigar Thilagam Sivaji Ganesan. Gemini Ganesan, Muthuraman, Jaishankar. A.V.M.Rajan, Rajinikanth. Kamal Haasan and Panidarajan under his production company Muktha Films.

The film has been titled as 'Manidha Neyar Ramanurar'. Speaking about the film, the veteran said "This is my 45th film. I did not want to cast popular heroes in the film as they will not get attached to the characters. There image will spoil the impact of hte character. Ramanujar was a sage who made immense contributions to all sections of the society. He broke the age old taboo that only Brahmins can enter the temples."

The shooting of 'Manidha Neyar Ramanujar' will begin March 2016 and it will released in three months after that. The film will be shot in many places that include Sriperumpudur (the birth place of Sri Ramanjura), Kalyanapuram. Koviladi, Thirukovilur and Srirangam.

The long list of films produced and directed by Muktha Srinivasan includes 'Mudhalali', 'Thavapudhalvan', 'Suriyagandhi', 'Andhaman Kadhali', 'Polladhavan' and 'Shimla Special'.
