Renowned for his honest opinions on politics, Hindi movies, and culture, Mukesh Khanna just spoke out against the bullying of Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal over their interfaith marriage. Veteran actor Filmy Charcha questioned people calling the marriage "Love Jihad," in an interview.
"Don't see Sonakshi and Zaheer's marriage from a Hindu-Muslim perspective," Khanna said. Their relationship was not a snap choice; they had spent six to seven years together before getting married. Though love jihad is when a girl's marriage is forced, some are calling this love jihad."
"Can't a Hindu and a Muslim marry?" he asked next. Many of us in our time have done so and are glad. For them, this marriage is a family affair.
Shatrughan Sinha recently spoke in an interview with Times Now regarding reports of his son Luv Sinha not attending Sonakshi's wedding. "There was nothing to cause concern about," he stated. We were just any regular family undergoing a wedding. You know better than me just why we attracted so much attention.
Before getting married on the same date they fell in love, June 23, 2017, Sonakshi and Zaheer dated for seven years. Huma Qureshi co-produced the movie Double XL, which stars the pair. Sonakshi was first presented to Zaheer, the son of businessman Iqbal Ratansi, a childhood friend of Salman Khan, at a social event. Along with Pranutan Bahl, Salman also backed Zaheer's first film, Notebook.
Sonakshi is working on Aditya Sarpotdar's horror-comedy Kakuda next.
