As was quite apparent on the opening weekend itself, it was a disastrous weekend for Bollywood with hardly any footfalls in theatres. It was pretty much a horror show inside the auditoriums with audience just not enticed enough to check out the films which were in the running.

The only film which still managed to garner some attention for itself was 'Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge'. Though it's opening was on a lower note, good word of mouth ensured that that there was hardly any fall in collections on a day by day basis. This doesn't mean though there was any massive escalation over the week. It's just that there was no fall per se and collections continued to hover around the 30%-40% mark. In a week where other movies hadn't managed even such occupancy, a consistent run (albeit on a lower side) was a reason for some smiles at the least.

Having said that, collections of this production from Y-Films would be much lower than their debut outing 'Luv Ka The End'. Standing at just under 4 crores, the film could at maximum do 7 crores but would have to then make way for 'Ra. One' which is all set to arrive like a thunder across the length and breath of the country. However from perception perspective, 'Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge' is a bigger success since - a) it has been liked and b) it has been made at a controlled budget. Expect frequent re-runs of this film on television.

As for the other four films, there were all-around losses with nothing really going in their favour to allow a sustained one week run. Both 'Azaan' as well as 'My Friend Pinto' kept going down over the week with combined collections well under the 5 crore mark. However indications are that the lead hero of 'Azaan', Sachiin Joshi, is continuing his stint with Bollywood and would be kick-starting a couple of projects soon. As for Prateik, leading man of 'My Friend Pinto', he too has been signed as a solo lead for a couple of more films.

Leading cast of 'Mod' and 'Jo Dooba So Paar - It's Love in Bihar!' can't expect something similar for them, what with the films turning out to be bona fide disasters at the box office and not even registering 1 crore in collections.
