Mugulu Nage Review
The magical combination of two super hit films ‘Mungaru Male and Gaalipata’ – actor Golden star Ganesh and director Yogaraj Bhat returns after a decade with more maturity and it is pleasure to watch ‘Mugulunage’ that is not just a love story. It is a life story. Bhat’s another brilliant work.
It is a beautifully prepared good treat for youths and family audience. Yogaraj Bhat has shown his strength in more than a dozen situations. Golden star Ganesh has remained very precise to the thoughts of the director. Laugh and cry in the character of Ganesh is amazing. It requires tremendous strength. In addition to it the mellifluous songs and absorbing cinematography ‘Mugulunage’ carries with good incentive to watch.
Yogaraj Bhat believed in making films for youths. This younger generation would bring the elderly at home to the theatres was his theory. In ‘Mugulunage’ he has looked at the angle of youths and aged people in one package. The concern he had shown to family audience and the great grand thought in the character of Pulakeshi is apt for this generation that is drawing away from rich heritage and culture.
When you look at the situation of Siri saying ‘God Ahead’ – Pulakeshi does not take the advantage of having sex with her and pushing off in life. He goes a step ahead and recalls his family tradition. He proposes for the marriage that is later rejected by beautiful Siri. Life does not stop for already love bit youngster Pulakeshi. He gave up in life going to foreign country and settling down with Vaishali. The move he takes is also backed by his family. The third girl in his life is committed and she respects the obligations in life. That is Apoorva Arora. Is life finished for Pulakeshi? After two years you find something admirable and the right approach falls perfectly on line.
It is a good procession of some of the ‘Navarasas’ of acting in golden star Ganesh. In his capacity carrying ‘Smiley’ face always, it was not easy for Ganesh. He lives according to the title. In his laugh the audience collects tears and such is the strength of director Bhat.
Golden star Ganesh is in a role that is very close to his image. His costume, dance, funny dialogues are a good treat. Nikita Narayan, Ashika Ranganath, Apoorva Arora have given their best. Amoolya in a short role has not much to capture attention.
Achyuth Kumar is the one actor who makes you watch him again and again. He is such a talent bundle and gives emotional moments with strong dialogues with ease. The wife role of Achyuth Kumar is also admirable.
Jaggesh in one of the songs, Ananthnag as doctor in the beginning and in end are in guest role. The musical scores of V Harikrishna is major share holder of this film. There are five songs you would easily hum and remain in the memory out of seven songs scored. The beautiful lines of Jayanth Kaikini and Yogaraj Bhat give further energy to this film. Shreya Goshal, Sonu Nigam and Vijayaprakash haunt with their top quality of singing.
Sugnan cinematography is like eating ‘Benne Dose’ – he is so crisp, clean and competitive in his job. Editing does not spoil the mood of the film as the four storied concept of Yogaraj Bhat give engaging moments.
Yogaraj Bhat has increased his level of thinking in giving a more responsible cinema. Of course not missing the entertainment.
Go watch this film for some pleasure and it reduces pressure for senior citizens for Yogaraj Bhat concern.
Right film at the right time from producer Syed Salam, Yogaraj Cinemas and Golden Movies
