It is no doubt that former Indian skipper MS Dhoni is one of the best captains the country has had, as he led India to victory in the World Cup twice, in 2007 World T20 and 2011 ODI. Dhoni has seen much success as a captain in the IPL as well. The CSK team has won the title thrice, in 2010, 2011, and 2018, under Dhoni's captaincy.
Former England batsman Kevin Pietersen has reportedly stated that it would be hard to argue against Dhoni's greatness, adding that he is the best captain ever. It will be very difficult just with the weight of expectation to go against MS Dhoni because of what everybody expects from him, how he has to live his life and what he has been through captaining India and then captaining the CSK, Pietersen said. The debate over Dhoni's future in cricket has been happening since India's semi-final exit from the 2019 World Cup, after which Dhoni has not played International cricket and refrained from answering questions regarding the same as well.
With Dhoni's return to International cricket remaining uncertain, fans of the wicket keeper-batsman had been eagerly awaiting to watch their star player in action, but were left disappointed yet again due to the suspension of the 13th edition of IPL that was scheduled to begin on March 29, over the coronavirus pandemic.
