Hate comments started pouring in for skipper MS Dhoni on social media after his team lost to Kolkata Knight Riders in the 13th edition of IPL at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium on Wednesday.

Kedar Jadhav and Dhoni were on the receiving end of trolls after Chennai Super Kings failed to chase down the target of 168 set by Kolkata Knight Riders, despite a good start. The most despicable comments, however, were directed towards Dhoni's family, especially his 5-year-old daughter Ziva, who received rape threats on Dhoni and Sakshi's social media accounts on Instagram, Facebook, as well as Twitter. This is not the first time that the players' families are targeted as Virat Kohli's wife Anushka Sharma has expressed her displeasure on numerous occasions about being dragged into criticism everytime Kohli performed poorly on field. Several social media users have shared screenshots of the reprehensible comments and condemned the trolls. "Dhoni's 6-year-old daughter Ziva is getting rape threats because he didn't play well in IPL. Do you see the future of this country for women? where they're normally giving a 6 year old rape threats because her father didn't play a game well? Makes me sick (sic)," a user wrote.

Sharing the screenshots from Instagram, another user wrote, "Just saw that Dhoni's 6-year-old daughter Ziva is getting rape and death threats because he didn't play well in #IPL2020. Do people realize what shithole we have become? Can you even imagine where we are heading as a country? Morally dead and decayed nation! (sic)"
