Actress Mrunal Thakur is awaiting the release of her films 'Toofan' and 'Jersey'. The common thing between the two projects other than than Mrunal herself is that both of these are sports dramas. Both the film will follow the stories of underdog protagonists who rise up to the challenge to prove themselves. 'Toofan' will have Farhan Akhtar playing a boxer while in 'Jersey' will revolve around Shahid Kapoor's character, a washed up cricketer.
Since both the roles are similar, Mrunal was worried that fans might see her as a generic actress. She addressed the issue in a recent conversation with Bollywood Hungama.
Mrunal said, "I was really scared because people always expect new and different things. Here I am doing two sports films. One of the biggest challenges for me was to be part of both the dramas and at the same time appear different. All I can vouch for to the audience is the fact that Jersey and Toofaan, if you ask my character they are totally different and I have promised to myself that I will never repeat anything onscreen. So, the audience needs to be rest assured that there is something different that they are going to see in me in Jersey and in Toofaan."
