As was reported earlier, Mrunal Thakur will be seen as a young Sivagami in Netflix's web series 'Baahubali: Before The Beginning'. She is stepping into Ramya Krishna's shoes for this pan-Indian series.

Speaking about the project, Mrunal says, "For me, when I gave the audition, it was not easy. When I saw both the Baahubali films, the benchmark was there. To match up to Ramya Krishna was a challenge. It's a big treat to work with this team. When I got to know that it was a Netflix project, I was even more excited."

Touted to be a live-action series, the Netflix prequel is based on novelist Anand Neelakantan's book. Rahul Bose, Atul Kulkarni, Vaquar Shaikh, Jameel Khan, Siddharth Arora and Anup Soni will be seen in other key roles.

It will be co-directed by Deva Katta and Praveen Sataru.
