Akshara Haasan will be seen in a key role in 'Mr. KK', the thriller which releases on July 19. In this interview, catch her talk about the film, what makes it special, working with director Rajesh M Selva, her role in it and more.

Doing things differently

I like doing things in a different way. That's why I have acted in this film, as it suits my skill set. I enjoy doing versatile roles. I play a pregnant woman in the film. I can't say more about the film, as it will be a spoiler.

Sort of homework

I consulted my mom and my friends who know what it is to be a pregnant woman. That was part of my homework. It was genuinely an amazing experience trying to understand what a pregnant lady goes through. I get goosebumps thinking about having worked under Raajkamal Films International, which has produced many important films.

Vikram, director were great to work with

It was amazing working with Vikram sir. I have always respected him as an actor. When I got into the project, I was excited. I look up to him. It was an experience to see him perform. Rajesh M Selva is clear about what he wants. He was very helpful in making me understand things if I needed clarity. I haven't dubbed in Telugu since I am not familiar with the language, unfortunately.

A slow-paced professional

When it comes to work, we keep out personal lives aside and concentrate on what we are supposed to do. My parents have always let me choose my own films. I don't take their help when I can do things on my own. I am intentionally slow-paced as an actor. I am clear about what I want to do in films. We all go through different mental phases. I reflected upon which direction I wanted to go into. Without being clear about it, there is no point. When I became an actor, I started learning the craft in a better way. My parents are versatile actors, my dad does so many different things apart from acting. Until you don't put yourself in a position, you wouldn't know what acting is all about. Even workshops can help only to an extent.

Multiple things

I do a lot of things. I make jams, I play football, I draw, I write, I am going to start something new soon. I like to discover new things.
