What is it all about?

Remember when we had a hearty laugh by a detective.. well we need to appoint a detective for this but not Mr. Cravalo please... Sambhaloo... last time Sanjay Dutt starrer `Chatur Singh Two Star' (2011) helmed by Ajay Chandok tried to please those funny hormones of the viewers of this genre but failed. Debutant director Samir Tewari in Mr. Jo B Cravalho fumbles it as he and his writer Arshad Sayyad fails   to understand the difference between a goof and a spoof though there are some inspired individual moments of Arshad Warsi and Javed Jaffery but the movie ends up as a disconnected hit-or-miss skits like that bad MTV Bakra on big screen.

The Story

Arshad Sayyad pens this desi Steve Martin Austin but with very little powers of inspired gags, wit or humour, striving for comic points mostly with that excruciatingly dull humor and further gives a blind eye for any sexual innuendos - the USP of such genre.

Arshad does (Carvalho) a bumbling sleuth who on a mission encounters Carlos (Javed Jaffery) a multiple disorder killer while a dabangg lady cop Shanti Priya (Soha) is out to catch Carlos and how the confusion leads to a crazy mayhem is supposed to be the rest part of this plot.

What to look out for

One can only hope that something good is coming from the comic talents of the caliber of Arshad Warsi and Javed Jaffery they do deliver in bits and pieces. Some individual scenes have come out well though it doesn,t make much sense like the funny romantic episode between Arshad and Soha. Javed Jaffery entry.

At least Samir Tewari in his debut as a helmer tries something out of the box. Soha is good. Vijay Raz excels as ever.

What not

It's just an idea. No execution. It starts but doesn't know where to go. Director Samir Tewari and writer Arshad Sayyad have an idea but this newbie sirjis fail to give a proper framework structure to the plot. For example Javed Jaffery's character is introduced quite comically but after that it gets lost in its own get up wonders, same can be said about the film which is tempting initially but the disorder in the script defeats the efforts of Arshad and Javed who are likable. Ditto for Snehal Dabi as Kopa Kabana.

Conclusion: Even if you are in a charitable mood Mr. Joe B Carvalho doesn,t go beyond a couple of chuckles. Mostly a waste of time and comic talents like Arshad and Javed. Sambhaloo.. watch at your own risk.
