'Mr. Bhatti On Chutti' is a terrible film. And this by the way is saying a lot for the film which only ends up annoying you in a big way. Reason being that it doesn't even amuse you in way that you could be mocking at it instead of laughing along with it. Supposed to be a laughter show with Anupam Kher leading the charge and running the film entirely on his shoulders, it doesn't even end up making you smile at all, hence resulting in an outing that can be hardly termed as an enjoyable 'chutti'.

Loosely based on 'Mr. Bean's Holiday', the film is about Mr. Bhatti (Kher) who wins an overseas trip and finds himself in England. The sequence of events leads him to a situation where he discovers that he has a look-alike terrorist. Ironically Bhatti is on a peace mission and has a proposal for none less than George Bush to bring 'aman' and 'shanti'. However delay in release of the film has only coincided with the change in President of the U.S.A. as well. However even that current affairs reference could have been avoided if only the film was entertaining. Unfortunately though that's not the case which means the film is on a free-fall from start till the end.

Not that one had expected anything better from the film. It is directed by Karan Razdan who surprisingly has managed to make as many as eight films before this without delivering even a mild success till date. Some of his earlier work includes 'Girlfriend', 'Hawas', 'Umar', 'Souten' amongst others and while a filmmaker can be expected to bounce back, the expectations only go lower down film after film. This is what happens with 'Mr. Bhatti On Chutti' as well and though it is his ninth offering, one waits to see whether Razdan would actually manage to find his way behind the camera for his tenth film as well.

Looking at 'Mr. Bhatti On Chutti' though, one waits to see how he does that since the film fails on the very single count that was supposed to be it's USP - 'Humour'. Despite the presence of a veteran like Kher who can make even a piece of wood react to his antics, the film just doesn't rise to the occasion. Saddled by poorly written scenes coupled with routine shot taking and a jerky narrative, 'Mr. Bhatti On Chutti' turns out to be an apology of a film which would do down amongst the most forgettable of the year.

As for Kher then how one wishes he stays away from the likes of films like these, 'Naughty @ 40', 'Perfect Mismatch', 'Dhoom Dadakka' and others of it's ilk that just give him an overseas holiday and that's about it. One wonders though whether he really enjoys them because given the kind of content thrust upon him once on location, he can hardly be expected to smile his way through on as well as off the camera.
