On this, the second April weekend we have hand picked another five films from across the globe of various genres for you. We are sure that those of you who miss going to the theatres will enjoy each one of these celebrated works with different genres and story telling techniques.
'Tezaab' (1998) Hindi - Action drama
The younger generation would have heard and seen the song "Ek Do Teen" which catapulted Madhuri Dixit to superstardom. The film directed by N. Chandra is an edge of the seat action drama with hit pair Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit plus stylish set pieces and memorable songs. An afternoon well spent is what you will feel after this one.
'Run Lola Run' (2003) French - Non-Linear Thriller
The film deals with Lola who has to gather a huge amount within twenty minutes to save her boy friend from certain death. The unique screenplay starts at the same place but presents three different scenarios where different characters and endings are involved. The film was well received globally and still remains one of the best in world cinema.
'Memories of Murder' (2003) South Korean - Mystery Drama
The story is about a serial killer who murders only women who wear red while listening to his favourite song on radio that requests for every time. Though at surface level its a murder mystery there is depth in the character study of the cops who try rather unsuccessfully to nab the elusive murderer using different questionable methods. This one will keep you glued every second.
'Gran Torino' (2008) US - Drama
Clint Eastwood is at it again directing and starring in as a war veteran who forms an unlikely friendship with a Hmong American teenager over their mutual love for a 1972 For Grand Torino car which he owns. The boy is raring to become a gangster and the older man makes the ultimate sacrifice for him. A must watch for all Eastwood fans.
'U Turn' (2016) Kannada - Supernatural Thriller
This supernatural thriller has Shraddha Srinath of 'Virkam Vedha' fame as the lead heroine who investigates the suicides of bikers who move a stone to take a U Turn which causes accidents on a flyover. The highly intriguing screenplay by Pawan Kumar has many exciting twists that keeps you guessing till the very end.
