Bangalore: A 30-year-old woman, Pushpavathi, poisoned her children and then committed suicide by hanging herself on Monday. She had written a suicide note in which she said she was taking the drastic step due to depression and no one was responsible for it. Her husband Nagaraj who works as a driver in a private company came home from work to find his family no more.
Pushpavathi who was from Theerthahalli had married her husband ten years previously in a love marriage, opposing her parents. She had not been in touch with her family after getting married. Her husband reports that they did not have any conflicts. He was very shocked to find that his wife had poisoned the children (aged 5 months and 8 years) and ended her life. A police officer said: “We have contacted Pushpavathi’s parents over the phone and are waiting for their arrival to conduct a postmortem. We will register a case based on their allegations.”
