All kinds of laughable rumours have been heard about 'Roudram Ranam Rudhiram'.  But here is the mother of all rumours.  Kamaal R Khan, the Bollywood film critic and BO tracker, has said that SS Rajamouli is going to release the Jr NTR-Ram Charan starrer directly on OTT and not in theatres.

Quoting unnamed "confirmed sources", KRK's portal said, "Rajamouli’s 'RRR' is releasing on the personal app of SS Rajamouli on pay per view model.  The film is dubbed in 8 languages and it will be priced Rs 500 per view. It is expected to collect a minimum of Rs 1,200 Cr within 5 hours, which will come straight into Rajamouli’s account."

He added, "RRR's release pattern will prove that OTTs and personal apps will destroy theatres, mediators, buyers, distributors, film chambers, producers councils and also stars. It looks like 'RRR' will make three times more money by such a pattern of release instead of regular release (sic)."

The rumour sounds quite crazy and far-fetched.  Crores of people will have no access to the movie both because they can't afford to shell out Rs 500 per view and also because of the lack of access to digital tools.  Given this reality, it's unlikely the makers of 'RRR' will take such a huge gamble.

The film's budget is said to be more than Rs 400 Cr.
