Indian filmmakers and film watchers are suckers for sentiments.

And the mother sentiment, as the industry calls it, is still a good bet.

That is why Muddula Koduku, from the stable of hot shot producer A M Rathnam, carries good expectations.

The film stars Rathnam's son Ravi Krishna in the lead. Ravi Krishna has already announced his arrival through his sensitive portrayal in 7 G Brindavan Colony.

But that was a complicated love story while Muddula Kodukku is about the relationship between a mother and son.

Director Radha Mohan, a Tamil director, made a mark through Prakash Raj's own production Azhagiye Theeye. He is known to be a no-nonsense kind of director.

The producer Rathnam says the film has lot of emotions and is certainly for the family audiences.

The interesting aspect of it all is that Ravi Krishna is appearing with a special make-up (prosthetic one) in the film. He is said to have gone to the US to understand the basics of make-up and looking fine on screen.

Revathy plays his mother on screen and the relationship between the two forms the cornerstone of the film.

Vidyasagar's music for the film is already a hit.

The film is set for August release.
