More trouble for Gajendra

Vijayakanth-starrer Gajendra has run into rough weather again. The film produced by V A Durai, was slated for release last week, which was later postponed. Meanwhile, a film financier filed a petition today in the Madras High Court seeking an interim injunction to release it only after obtaining a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from him, since the producer had not cleared the loans taken from him for making the movie.
It may be recalled that Durai had moved a city civil court last week seeking to direct the lab to hand over the films prints without a NOC from the financier Jaswanthchand Bhandari to ensure its release at the earliest. He stated in his petition that he had cleared the dues obtained from Bhandari, but he demands more now.
Meanwhile, in his counter, the counsel for the financier contended that the producer owed Rs 2.5 crore for which he (Durai) had even given promissory notes. Until the dues are cleared, the release of the movie should be stalled.
Meanwhile, in a twist to the tale, advocate Thyageeshwaran, appearing on behalf of the financier today, moved the High Court stating that the case does not fall under the jurisdiction of city civil court and prayed for an interim injunction to stall the proceedings at the court. Until the dues are cleared, the court should prevent its release, he contended.
