Yet again, the title of a Tamil movie has run in to controversy.

Actor Ravi Krishna's forthcoming Tamil movie Kallan, directed by his brother Jyothy Krishna and produced by his father A M Rathnam has been facing the wrath of leaders from one particular community.

In an interview to a vernacular press, a leader of Mukoolathar Community, apparently referring to the title Kallan, said, "It is unfortunate for the Tamil filmdom to churn out a movie in our caste's name. It would no doubt hurt the sentiments of the people.

The photographs of the film which appeared in some sections of the press were also in a bad taste. Hence we urge them to change the movie's title at the earliest".

Meanwhile, reacting to the allegations, director Jyothy Krishna says, "It is the director who decides on the titles.

I sincerely believe that he should have enough freedom in naming the movie. Protests for movie's title has become a common thing these days.

I can only assure that there would be nothing derogatory in my film".
