Dr. Mohan Babu has come in for a lot of praise from Nandamuri Balakrishna, who has praised the 'Dialogue King' for having the rare honour of a biography on him released in the precincts of the House of Commons, UK. Below is the translated version of Balayya's encomium on Mohan Babu.
"As an actor and a person, Nanna garu has been a great source of inspiration for me. After him, it's Mohan Babu garu who has inspired me a lot. With discipline and determination, he has carved an identity for himself as an individual.
His dialogue delivery is wonderful. In Sardaar Paparayudu, his lines like 'Maa vantavadu Bharateeyudu, maa thotavadu Bharateeyudu..' are great. Be it in acting or dialogue delivery, many survive by imitating him.
I have had the fortune to act with him. In Pandurangadu, he played a very good character.
He is a non-pareil in all the nine 'rasas'. He has a style of his own. He has played so many roles that I won't be able to play in this life. By calling me an actor, I feel I am distancing myself from him. I would rather call him my brother. I see him as my family member. I am not jovial with any in the industry more than I am with him. It feels very great when I meet him. His children - Lakshmi, Manoj and Vishnu - call me 'annayya' with so much affection.
His social service activities are praiseworthy. His Vidyaniketan has been providing free education to 25 pc of the students. He is an ideal to our and next generation. There are many similarities between him and me. Like him, I too get very angry. It's that anger which has endeared him to so many.
He has acted in great movies like Pedarayudu. I wish that he makes many more movies that are good to the people.
He has reached this stage by challenging many obstacles."
