Come festive season, quality entertaining movies are one good way to spend the time with family and friends. However, it becomes a tad difficult to get that coveted ticket with holiday rush thronging cinema halls. Well, guess what, the latest announcement from Tamil Nadu Theatre Owner Association might give you a sigh of relief.

Theatres have been given permission to screen additional shows during Pongal holidays (January 12,17,18). So theatres can screen a maximum of 5 shows per day. In addition to this, during the dates January 13,14,15 and 16, theatres can also screen a show at 9 am. A communication pertaining to this has been forwarded from the District Collector’s office to the Entertainment Tax officials. 

Suriya’s ‘Thaana Serndha Koottam’, Vikram’s ‘Sketch’ and Prabhu Deva’s ‘Gulaebhagavali’ are set to hit the screens tomorrow and it is expected that these films will bank on the increase in number of shows. Plus, fans have a lot more probability to catch their favourite stars in theatres this holiday season.
