Director Vasanth is back after a brief hiatus, after 'Satham Podadhe' in 2007 he comes out with a breezy trio love story in 'Moondru Per Moondru Kadhal'. The leading threesome casts are Arjun and Surveen Chawla, Vimal and Anjana, Cheran and Muktha Bhanu.Production has been taken care by Mahendra Talkies and music is by our Yuvan Shankar Raja which is already a sensational hit. Vasanth has always been the mastermind behind projecting sensitive relationships and showcasing them. MPMK will have much to offer for his fans with each of the stories set in a different milieu. Has he given the right balance in gluing the audiences here? Let's take a closer look.

Love in parts:

Plausibly the story is set in three different locales, breezy seashore, a cool serene hilly region and the beautiful plains. The plot is not just about the usual cupid factor between a man and a woman, it varies with some unique proportions and a few sequences just tap your hearts and some otherwise. Arjun and Surveen are Harris and Divya the swimmer coach and his student who relentlessly fall in love. The pair is plagued with troubles and there is a twist in the form of encouragement that love can do to someone.

Gunasekaran (Cheran) is an ardent social worker, also a student of London school of Economics and Mallika (Muktha) is a physiotherapist, and the pair meets up by the seashore. This story is more of 'what are the important values of Love in life'. Guna tried his hand to impress Mallika, does he win her heart?

The third pair is Varun(Vemal) and Anjana(Lasini) and the story starts in the year 2016 and then flashes back to 2012. Throughout, it's like a walk and talk in the park kind, with Varun unveiling his love story. It goes on and on to lead up to another story and what happens to their love is to watch and find out.

The Cast, Technicalities and Directors cut:

To start off, easily the pick of the lot would be Arjun & Surveen's part. Both of them cave in easily into their roles and some excellent casting with a touche tale has paid off well for this pair. Cheran is apt for the role of a good lad and Muktha impresses in the second half. A big letdown would be Vemal and Lasini as both of them are not up to their mark performance wise. It appears that Vemal should either give some big time concentration on his body languages or stick to his strengths like roles in 'Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga' , 'Kallavani' etc. His tryst with urbanity doesn't seem to click for one moment.

Usually Vasanth's movie is melodiously captured and also harmonic in the background as well, and this movie is no different. Some pleasing camera work by Dinesh is worth a mention. As for the songs, Yuvan has given what Vasanth would have asked for, but the visuals jarring a few do not live up to the audio's class. Editing except for the initial half hour is fair and praiseworthy.

Vasanth is synonymous for highlighting relationships beyond their meticulous nature and what is hidden in each of them. Shelving three stories in one umbrella he brings a twist in the tale that will merge the stories together, now that's the interesting part. Apart from a honest attempt to reveal his intentions, the movie gets yawningly long, as the movie unveils at a relatively slow pace. With some amicable reputation he tries a narration that doesn't sync up as a whole rather works in places.

To sum up, the director's usual foray is missing and might work in bits with the help of some breezy music, help from the cast and some good cinematography.

Verdict : A sensitive movie full of lows and highs at places.

Star : 3/5

Rating: 0 / 5.0
