Jeppiaar`s second daughter alleged in a complaint to the police commissioner`s office that her mother and sisters had kept her imprisoned at home for her father`s property.
Sheela, 49, wrote in her complaint that she was estranged from her two children and husband, and stayed at her father`s house inside the Sathyabama University grounds.
She wrote that after her father`s demise, her mother Remy took the reins of the Jeppiaar Educational Trust (JET) and told Sheela that she would be allowed to run some other institutes if she agreed to quit her role at JET. An year passed without the mother keeping her promise and Sheela demanded that she be given her share of her father`s property, just like her three other sisters would receive theirs. Soon after, she was imprisoned at home without any basic amenities and no one was allowed to visit her. She further wrote that she was driven out of the house by thugs.
She asked for protection, alleging that her sisters and mother were hand in glove in this attempt to take her rightful share of her father`s property.
