Actress Kalpana's death came as a shock to the entire film fraternity. Most of the M'Town celebrities turned up for the funeral which was held yesterday at Thripunithara, Kochi. While many were present at her flat, others also paid respect to her earthly remains before being cremated.

Mohanlal, Dulquer, Fahadh, Nazriya, Prithviraj, Kunchako Boban, Kavya Madhavan, Maniyanpilla Raju et al were present. Her family, including two sisters Urvashi and Kalarenjini, Urvashi's ex-husband Manoj K Jayan, and others were inconsolable. Most of the actors including Anoop Menon, Prithviraj, Manju Warrier, Dulquer and others posted about their encounters with Kalpana. Prithviraj said that he was on the same flight with Kalpana to Hyderabad, recalling their conversation. The untimely death has greatly affected everyone.
