While addressing the gathering, Mohanlal's wife Suchitra opened up about their love story for the first time.
Suchitra said that she initially hated him while watching him in his first movie 'Mannjil Virinja Pookal', in which Mohanlal played the baddie. And every time he played a negative shaded role, Suchithra said that she used to hate him. Only after she watched ‘Ente Mammattikuttiyammakku', Suchitra started falling for him. Soon, they fell in love and got married. Lauding her husband's decision to direct a movie, Suchitra said that Mohanlal is always her favorite actor and that she hopes he will be her favorite director too.
In Suchithra's words:
“In the last years, I decided to be low profile and take a backseat. I stepped back from all the busy programmes. I addressed an event for my son Appu’s (Pranav Mohanlal) debut movie. Today, I am addressing a gathering as part of the best moment in my husband’s life. As an actor, he has achieved everything. Now, he is taking a new step as a director. So I must speak today.
When I saw him in the first movie ‘Manjil Virinja Pookkal', I hated him. I used to hate him whenever he featured the role of a villain. But I knew that I disliked him because he was so perfect in his job. After watching ‘Ente Mammattikuttiyammakku’, I started to like him. Slowly, I fell in love with him and we got married. Today, he is my favourite actor,” said Suchitra.
