The payment that Malayalam superstar Mohanlal drew for director Nesan's Vijay starrer Pongal contender 'Jilla', is reportedly the highest remuneration in his seasoned career. But that has not come as cash, but as the Kerala distribution rights for the film. It is well known that Vijay has a solid fan base in Kerala too, and the M-town is eagerly awaiting 'Jilla's' release, as the film also stars their superstar in a pivotal and prominent role. Going by the feed so far, about the movie, it is said that Mohanlal's role can be likened to that of Vijay's godfather in the movie.
While the two actors are bonding in a healthy friendship off screen, posters showing the both raising their collars is a treat for the audience from both states. But back to the pay cheque, how much does this remuneration drawn by Mohanlal translate to in monetary terms? Sources say distribution rights for 'Jilla' in Kerala amount for about 3.5 to 4 crore rupees.
