Ad filmmaker turned director V A Shrikumar, who made his Mollywood entry with the Mohanlal starrer ambitious movie 'Odiyan' in 2018 has announced his next project. On Thursday, Shrikumar took to his social media to unveil the title poster of his upcoming movie Mission Konkan, a multi-lingual project that will be based on the valor and bravery of Mappila Khalasis.
Acclaimed writer T D Ramakrishnan is penning the script for this movie which is based on Mappila Khalasis, the traditional makers of big trading vessels from Malabar. Set in the backdrop of Konkan Railway, the film will revolve on how Khalasi toppled the efforts of enemy countries trying to breakdown India’s unity and scientific advancement.
The pan-Indian story, which has T D Ramakrishnan as the screenplay writer, will be mainly shot in Ratnagiri, Goa, Delhi, Beypore, Kozhikode and Palakkad. To be made mainly in Hindi, the movie will be released in all South Indian languages.
Produced by VA Shrikumar himself under the banner of Earth and Air Films, the upcoming movie will feature several top stars from Bollywood, Kollywood and Mollywood in important roles. An official announcement regarding the complete cast and crew of the movie will be made in the coming days.
