Mohanlal-Jeethu Joseph's much-awaited sequel Drishyam 2 aka Drishyam: The Resumption was released on February 19 at midnight via Amazon Prime. Hours after the release, the movie was leaked on Telegram channel. Reportedly, several Telegram users had even downloaded the video and watched as well. The makers of the movie are yet to react officially on this.

Drishyam-2, a sequel of Drishyam released in 2013, is a direct continuation of the events that conspired in the prequel. Produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Ashirward Cinemas, the movie stars Mohanlal, Meena, Siddique, Asha Sharath, Murali Gopi, Ansiba Hassan and Esther in the lead roles.

While the movie was completed for release last year, the makers had to delay its release due to the coronavirus scare in the country. This is for the first time that a big-budget movie in Malayalam is getting released on the OTT platform. As the movie has already opened massive responses from the audiences, it is still unclear whether the film will be released in theatres.
