Drishyam 2, the sequel of the blockbuster Malayalam thriller Drishyam, will be released on Amazon Prime Video. Announcing the OTT release, the makers of the movie also unveiled the teaser of the film. Sharing the video, Mohanlal wrote, “Georgekutty and his family are coming soon on Amazon Prime Video."

The movie's teaser shows Georgekutty, the character played by Mohanlal, delivering dialogue to a police officer from the previous film. “I have never seen police officers as fools. Rather I see them as protectors of people. That is why I believe that sir and this police station will protect me,” says Georgekutty suggesting that the sequel too will be as gripping as the first movie.

The chilling teaser also gives glimpses of Mohanlal, Meena, Ansiba, and Esther, the main cast of the sequel.

Now, the latest is that the makers are planning to release the movie after February 15th. In a recent media interaction, Antony Perumbavoor, the producer of the flick revealed the same. Though the movie-buffs are quite disappointed that the movie is not having a theatrical release, they are excited on the fact that they could watch their favorite superstar's movie again after a long time.

Directed by Jeethu Joseph, Drishyam 2 is also centered on a family of four. The prequel dealt with how the family stood together to protect their elder daughter who accidentally kills a man, who harassed her. While the prequel was a thriller, Drishyam 2 is said to be a family drama.

The film has been shot in Kochi and Thodupuzha. Post-production work is expected to be completed in a month’’s time.
