The much anticipated Mohanlal-B.Unnikrishnan investigative thriller 'Villain' is gearing up to hit the big screens on October 27th. In the upcoming movie, Mohanlal essays the role of Mathew Manjooran, an ex-cop, while Manju Warrier appears as his wife. Besides Mohanlal and Manju, Villain has non-Keralites actors such as Vishal, Hansika Motwani, Raashi Khanna and Srikanth in pivotal roles. The star cast also includes Srikanth, Siddique, Renji Panicker, Aju Varghese, Chemban Vinod Jose, Anand, Idavela Babu, Kottayam Nazeer and Antony Perumbavoor

Produced by Rockline Entertainments, Villain is the first Indian movie to be filmed and released in the 8K resolution format. The camera used to shoot this film was Red's Weapon Helium 8K S35 camera. Villain also promises to have some impressive fight sequences choreographed by Ravi Varma, Ram Laxman, and Action G. The songs for the film have been composed by 4 Music and the background score has been done by Sushin Shyam. Manoj Paramahamsa has cranked the camera for this film while Shameer Mohammed is the editor. 

The movie has attained huge table profits with a mammoth pre-release business of Rs 10 crores. Surya TV has shelled out Rs. 7 crores for its satellite rights while Villain’s overseas rights has been sold at Rs 2.50 crore. Hindi Dubbing rights bagged for Rs 3 crore and Music Rights for Rs 50 lakh were other achievements of this B Unnikrishnan film.
