Actor Mohanlal was supposed to start shooting for the Jeethu Joseph directorial Drishyam 2 by the mid of August. But the shoot was postponed due to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the state. Now the latest is that the team is set to start shooting by September 20 following all Covid-19 protocols.
The actor returned from Chennai to Kerala before Onam. After completing his 14 days quarantine period, the actor was part of several advertisements and TV shows during the Onam period.
Reportedly, the actor is now undergoing his periodic wellness Ayurveda treatment from September 2. The actor is presently undergoing treatment at Peringottukara Gurukripa Ayurveda Heritage and the pictures of it have gone viral in the social media. He is expected to join the shoot after he completes his treatment on September 15.
Since the first part of Drishyam was a huge hit that also went on to be remade in several languages successfully, expectations are high on ‘Drishyam 2’. As per director Jeethu Joseph, the sequel will continue exactly from where the first part ended with the story revolving around the lives of Georgekutty and family.
Apart from Mohanlal, Meena, Ansiba and Esther Anil will be reprising their roles from the original. The sequel is reportedly set seven years after the original film’s story.
Meanwhile, the actor is also expected to resume the shoot of Ram after the lockdown is eased abroad. The movie is also directed by Jeethu Joseph and has Trisha in the female lead. It is said that the movie will resume only by 2021.
