Malayalam Superstar Mohanlal will oppose the film makers’ decision to cut salaries of stars on way to reducing the cost of production. Mohanlal has said it is an actor’s prerogative to decide his remuneration and it should be left to the actors to decide their value. On the increase in cost of production Mohanlal was categorical to deny actors remuneration is the only reason behind escalating costs of production. He said there are so many other factors.

Mohanlal, who along with Mammootty has been holding the top position in the Malayalam industry for past three decades, credited his fans and film for his success all these years.

He also expressed his displeasure in putting a ceiling on a film’s budget. The industry has earlier proposed that Malayalam films’ budget do not cross the Rs.3.50 crore mark.

“My latest film has been shot at three different places and it took us five months to build a farm house. We planted greenery to make sure it looks like a real farm house. We could have erected a set with a few cows and ducks, but we wanted more perfection. Our efforts paid, as the film has turned out to be a visual treat,” said Mohanlal.
