Director Major Ravi, who has over 24-year long experience in the Indian military, is well known for helming army-based movies in Mollywood industry. The ace director who had mostly collaborated with superstar Mohanlal in movies such as ‘Keerthichakra’, ‘Kurukshetra, ‘Kandahar’, ‘Karmayodha’ and ‘1971 Beyond Borders’, is all set to once again team up with the complete actor.
At a time when the tensions between India and China have escalated severely, Major Ravi recently announced that he is now planning to make a film that will focus on the Indo-Chinese conflict. Titled as ‘Bridge on Galwan’, the film will revolve around the construction of the strategic bridge on Galwan valley that was a key trigger for the issues between the two countries.
Talking about the upcoming film in an interview with TOI Major Ravi said, “Be it Keerthichakra or Picket 43, the movies that I have done till now revolved around India-Pakistan wars and conflicts. In the upcoming movie, I would be revealing the incidents that happened in the past between India and China, and how it has all led to this escalation point. The film will also shed light on how badly the Indian army was defending our border with China because the previous governments had given orders not to use weapons. No army can take that stance and guard the country against an enemy. This was evident from the photos that were circulated in which the soldiers were using just physical force.”
Reportedly, the director is planning to make a pan-Indian film with top actors from various languages. The filming is expected to start by January 2021 in the Leh Ladakh region. Stay tuned!
