As you know, Mohanlal is a Padma Shri awardee and five-time National Award winner and also the first actor to be awarded the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army of India.

And now, for his achievements in the field of acting, Mohanlal will be honoured with a doctorate by the University of Calicut. Apart from the actor, the doctorate will be awarded to athlete P.T Usha and Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi, ruler of the Emirate of Sharjah, at the university campus in Malappuram.

For his contributions to Sanskrit theatre and the world of movies, Mohanlal had earlier received an honorary doctorate from the Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady.
