Superstar Mohanlal who was bestowed the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army (TA) will be honored at the inaugural function of the State-level Onam Week celebrations, this year. To be held at the Chandrasekharan Nair Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram from September 1, Lal will also lead some cultural programmes after the inaugural function.

As usual, the year too will have folk and classical art forms, musical concerts and other programs at the Nishagandhi open-air auditorium, the Sooryakanthi exhibition rounds, the Poojappura Maidan, Tagore Theatre, Theerthapada Mandapam, Gandhi Park, VJT Hall, Sreevaraham and Akkulam from Sep2-Sep 6, which is promoted as the tourism week by the state government.
