Veteran actor Mohanlal and Mammootty are known for their special bond and continue to rule Malayalam Cinema for over 4 decades. Though the fans of the duo battle over their stardom, it is extremely wonderful to watch how the two superstars maintain their friendship and are vocal about it.

In a recent interview with Mathrubhumi, actor Mohanlal clarified that there's been no battle between Mammootty and him till date. He also confessed that he wouldn't be able to play the roles played by Mammootty to perfection. He also added that he had craved to get some of Mammootty's brilliant roles.

“There is no battle between Mammootty and me in the film industry. I think there may be a healthy competition between us. I strongly believe I won’t be able to play such great roles played by Mammootty with such intensity. Then why should I compete with him? Actually, when I watch his good roles, I used to crave for similar roles. I don’t think it is wrong. A competition turns negative when one competes to destroy someone,” said Mohanlal in the interview. The superstars of Malayalam have acted in nearly 55 films together.

On the work front, Mohanlal is currently shooting for Jeethu Joseph directorial ‘Ram’. He will also be seen in the upcoming epic movie 'Marakkar-Arabikadalinte Simham' directed by Priyadarshan.
