Mohanlal’s big-budget movie ‘Marakkar-Arabikkadalinte Simham’ is all set to stream on Amazon Prime, OTT platform. 14 days after its theatrical release, the makers of the movie have announced that the OTT giant Amazon Prime Video will start streaming from December 17. The movie will have OTT release in 4 languages including Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. Amazon Prime Video too announced the date with a new trailer of the film. "this sea is ruled…by a lion! ??Watch #MarakkarOnPrime, Dec. 17", read their caption. Marakkar is said to be one among the most costly purchases by Amazon in India.
The magnum opus directed by Priyadarshan tells the tale of Kunjhali Marakkar, the famous naval chief of the Zamorin of Calicut, known for organizing the first naval defense of the Indian coast. Produced by Antony Perumbavoor, Marakkar is one of the costliest productions ever in Malayalam cinema with a budget of Rs 100 crore. Music is by Ronnie Raphael while Thiru is the cinematographer and Aiyappan Nair M.S is the editor. Even before the grand release in India, at the 67th National Film Awards, the film won three awards- Best Feature Film, Best Special Effects, and Best Costume Design.
