Mohanlal's much-awaited action entertainer 'Aaraattu' that was scheduled to hit the big screens on February 4, has been officially postponed to February 18 now. Taking to his official social media handle, Mohanlal himself announced the news. Directed by B Unnikrishnan and penned by Udayakrishna, the upcoming film is billed as a commercial-mass entertainer in which Mohanlal plays a character named Neyyattinkara Gopan.

The movie's trailer was released recently and had generated huge hype on social media. The trailer gives a glimpse of the actor's ultimate mass avatar in the flick. Going by the trailer, the movie promises to be a high-octane action entertainer that has an equal dose of entertainment. While the trailer had set social media on fire, the black Mercedes Benz, which Mohanlal uses in the movie, had also caught the attention of movie buffs as it bears the number '2255', which reminds the famous dialogue of Mohanlal in the film, 'Rajavinte Makan'.

Kollywood actress Shraddha Sreenath plays the female lead. She plays an IAS officer's role. The movie also stars Nedumudi Venu, Sai Kumar, Sidique, Vijayaraghavan, Johny Antony, Indrans, Raghavan, Nandu, Binu Pappan, Sheela, Swasika, Malavika, Rachana Narayanankutty, among others appearing in significant roles. B Unnikrishnan's frequent collaborator Shameer Muhammed is editing the film, while Vijay Ulaganath is handling the cinematography. Rahul Raj is the music director.

Interestingly, 'Araattu' will be Mohanlal's first theatre release after the movie 'Big Brother', which hit the movie houses early last year. Meanwhile, Mohanlal's latest release 'Bro Daddy' is currently streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
