As reported earlier finally Randamoozham is a reality. Mohanlal has announced the news in a news channel programme. It had a long journey so far.
Initially it was started as a pet project of director director Hariharan who has directed numerous M.T. Vasudevan Nair`s scripts and created waves at the box office. Oru Vadakkan Veeragadha`, Pazhassi Raja` etc are some of them. Hariharan thought about it after the big success of Pazhassi Raja` when its producer Gokulam Gopalan came up with the idea of producing another movie based on the script of M.T. Vasudevan Nair. Then he suggested the novel of M.T. Randamoozham` to him and he nodded. The director met M.T. and told him his desire, the writer agreed and the script work was started by the writer. And the producer officially announced it. It was decided that Mohanlal would do the role of Bheeman. Mohanlal on hearing it visited Hariharan and asked him for the novel which he readily gave the actor.
Meanwhile when M.T. started writing it, he felt that it cannot be made in one movie and should be two movies. The writer felt that if he abridges it in one film so many important elements and vital developments and sub plots will be missed. But Gokulam Gopalan was not ready to make it in two parts. So it was dropped by him. Now the scripts right is brought by Sreekumar Menon who has directed so many advertisements. He is making it in two parts and there are reports that ensemble cast includes Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, Vikram, Prabhu, Aishwarya Rai etc.
