Mohanlal makes a huge donation for hospitals in Kerala

On his 61st birthday, actor Mohanlal’s charitable foundation, ViswaSanthi Foundation, has donated critical infrastructure support including ICU beds and oxygen support to various hospitals across the state of Kerala. Taking to his social media handle, the actor wrote that his foundation has donated over 200 beds with oxygen support and 10 ICU beds with ventilator support to 13 hospitals - private and government - listed in KASP (Karunya Arogya Suraksha Padhathi) healthcare scheme of Kerala Government.
“Kerala and other parts of India are reeling under the devastating second wave of Covid-19, ViswaSanthi Foundation has stepped forward to arrange critical infrastructure support to the healthcare system fighting the pandemic. The Foundation has provided 3-fold support - 200+ beds with oxygen support, 10 ICU beds with ventilator systems as well as portable X-ray machines - to various hospitals in Kerala. ViswaSanthi is also providing support for the installation of Oxygen Pipeline to two wards and Triage ward of Kalamassery Medical College,” informed Mohanlal through his Facebook page.
For the project, the actor's foundation has raised Rs 1.5 Crore in association with EY GDS and US Technologies. The hospitals that will be benefited from the project include Kalamasserry Govt. Medical College, Indira Gandhi Co-operative Hospital in Kochi, SP Fort hospital in Thiruvananthapuram and Govt. Taluk hospital in Pattambi.
