Amid coronavirus outbreak, actor Mohanlal's Viswasanthi foundation donated 1000 PPE kits and over 2000 N95 masks to healthcare workers in Tamil Nadu, which is one of the most affected states in India.

Viswasanthi foundation director Dr Narayanan handed over the materials to Tamil Nadu Municipal Administration Minister SP Velumani at a function held in Coimbatore on Monday. Apart from the kits, the trust had also donated N95 masks to the TN police officials.

Ahead of the International Nurses Day, Mohanlal had even surprised few nurses in the UAE with a phone call on Monday. Expressing his gratitude to the "superheroes" for their selfless service during the Covid-19 pandemic, the actor boosted their morale by encouraging and thanking them.
