Mohanlal has been roped in to play the lead in director Lal's upcoming movie. The movie will be produced by Anthony Perumbavoor and is being planned as an Onam release. This is not the first time that Lal and Mohanlal are teaming up. They had shared screen in movies like 'Kanmadam' and 'Unnathangalil'. Lal together with Siddique had directed Mohanlal in the blockbuster movie 'Vietnam Colony'.

Lal had turned an independent filmmaker with the second part of 'Harihar Nagar'. His last outing, 'Conra' starring Mammootty in the lead did not do too well. With this Mohanlal movie, vintage Lal is expected to surface. Mohanlal has a number of interesting projects lined up. He is currently acting in Padmakumar's 'Kanal'.
