After playing a carpenter in Rasatantram, Mohanlal now plays a sculptor for a movie titled Aakasha Gopuram.

Shooting of the film had already started in London. A major portion of the movie would be shot in London and the remaining in and around Kerala.

The movie being directed by K P Kumar revolves around Mohanlal, who plays the role of a sculptor who goes from Kerala and makes it big in London and gains world acclaim. Meera Jasmine plays his heroine in the movie.

Mohanlal had just recently completed his 'Paradesi' with Kunhu Mohammed.
