Amid the nationwide lockdown, Mohanlal fans are all excited about the latest announcement made by veteran director Bhadran. On March 30, marking the 25th anniversary of his yesteryear hit 'Spadikam', Bhadran took to his social media page to make a surprise announcement of the Mohanlal starrer flick. By unveiling the first look motion poster of 'Spadikam', Bhadran announced that the movie will have a re-release soon.

Talking to Mathrubhumi, Bhadran said that they are re-releasing the movie for those who failed to enjoy it on the big screen. He also revealed that the team had spent Rs 2 crore to re-release the flick with 4k Dolby Atmos sound technology. The movie's next poster will be launched on Mohanlal's birthday. The ‘Spadikam’ director also shared that the restoration works of the film are in progress at Prasad Lab in Chennai and the sound mixing will be done at Four Frames studio. 30 percent of the work is completed. Once the pandemic outbreak is under control, all the restoration work will resume, he said.

Released in March 30, 1995, ''Spadikam' was directed by Bhadran. The movie is about a rebel son Aadu Thomas (Mohanlal), who runs away from his home after getting tired of his father Chacko Master's (Thilakan) firm attitude. He comes back to his home as a quarry owner and gangster.
