Mohanlal as a Delhi based Malayali in Major Ravi's next

Mohanlal has been roped in for an upcoming Major Ravi movie, which will be a family drama. The movie will have the actor essaying the role of a Delhi based Malayali named Balu. The movie is based on Ambika Nair's short story and Major Ravi has already purchased the rights of the story.

The short story is about how a bomb blast in New Delhi shatters the life of two families. John Paul Puthuserry has been roped in to script the movie. Mohanlal, who is impressed with the role, will however sign the movie only after he reads the complete script. The shooting will happen next year. Meanwhile, another Major Ravi movie starring Mohanlal will go on floors by September.
