Mohanlal and 'Odiyan' director VA Shrikumar reunite for a Bollywood movie

After Odiyan, actor Mohanlal and director Shrikumar Menon are reuniting for another project. Titled Mission Konkan, the movie will also feature Randeep Hooda in a lead role. According to reports, Mohanlal will play an extended cameo character in the film which will last for half an hour. The movie will mark Mohanlal's comeback to Bollywood, after a long gap. To be made in Hindi and Malayalam, the upcoming film is being produced by Jitendra Thackeray, Shalini Thackeray, and Kamal Jain.
Odiyan was released in December 2018 amidst the biggest hype ever seen in Malayalam cinema. However, the film did not live up to expectations and the director Shrikumar Menon was several attacked on social media. But despite the negative reports Odiyan still holds the record for the largest first-day box-office collection in Malayalam film. Even though the duo was later planning to team up for the movie adaptation of MT Vasudevan Nair's Randamoozham novel, the project was later dropped due to multiple issues. As Shrikumar Menon is all set to make a comeback after facing huge criticism, the new project has already become the talk of the town.
Meanwhile, Mohanlal recently wrapped the shoot of Bro Daddu, the second directorial of Prithviraj. The superstar is expected to kickstart the shooting of 12th Man, a mystery thriller, which marks Mohanlal's fourth collaboration with hitmaker Jeethu Joseph.
