After the news broke on business magnate B.R. Shetty`s interest to invest a whopping Rs 1000 crore for Mohanlal's new movie, The Mahabharata, an adaptation of M.T. Vasudevan Nair`s novel Randamoozham, Indian cinema has been awestruck.
In a recent interview, the movie's director Shrikumar Menon opened up about his hopes on the ambitious project. The ad filmmaker turned director said that he believes Mohanlal and MT Vasudevan Nair would bring the Oscar to India for this magnum opus. He also added that the all the technical works of the movie have kick started and that the team is eyeing for 2020 release.
The project which will engage both Indian and international artistes, including Academy winners, will be shot in English, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil and Telugu and dubbed in major Indian and foreign languages. The casting process is being managed by an international company and is moving on in a brisk pace.
Reportedly, Big B will be doing the role of Bhishma in Randamoozham, while Mohanlal will essaying the role of Bhima. To be released in two parts, the shoot will begin in September 2018 and the film is expected to release in early 2020. The second part of the movie would be released within 90 days of the first part.
