Yesterday, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had posted a video message where he urged people of the country to turn off lights and light candles, diyas or mobile flashlights on April 5, for 9 minutes at 9 PM.
Following this announcement from the PM, there were comparisons on social media by netizens who equated his request with the popular flashlight scene from director Mohan Raja's Velaikkaran starring Siva Karthikeyan and Nayanthara.
Responding to the comparisons, Mohan Raja himself tweeted "Yes!We all are longing for a solution to win over this crisis and hopefully we will be getting it soon. But the immediate need is positivity among us and thats what our PM @narendramodi sir has requested us ??Thanks to all for recollecting the ‘Lights on idea’ of #Velaikkaran ??".
