Equally touting praise for the film’s lead actors Sivakarthikeyan, Nayanthara, Anirudh and the film’s producer R.D.Raja, the director stated that he had brought those questions which have been gnawing him for over 20 years as he believes he has earned the qualification to do so after ‘Thani Oruvan’.

“Saying messages in large scale films is also possible. I do not believe in the concept of creating movies for the sake of only earning money,” he added. He also said that when most experimental movies come under the budget of only 5 crores, ‘Velaikkaran’ is an exception. The director also added that ‘Velaikkaran’ will talk about the problems faced by the working class and capitalism.

Apart from Sivakarthikeyan and Nayanthara essaying the lead roles, ‘Velaikkaran’ also has an ensemble cast with Fahadh Fasil, Robo Shankar, Vijay Vasanth, Prakash Raj, Sneha amidst others. The art design for the film has been handled by T.Muthuraj. The film is set to hit the sacreensthis Friday on December 22.
