Mohan Babu's Suggestion To Defer South Film Industry Celebrations

Mohan Babu today wrote to the Andhra Pradesh Film Chamber Of Commerce suggesting to request the centenary celebrations of Indian Cinema by the South Film Industries to be deferred by some time since Andhra Pradesh is burning with huge political turmoil and people are in no mood for festivities.

The actor producer in his letter said 'We have formulated a program for the celebrations to be held in Chennai during the 21st to 24th September. But the decision by the central government declaring Telangana and the ensuing Samaikyandhra movement in the Seemandhra regions have created a chaotic environment in the state with people striking the streets in protest...'

He added 'Telangana and Seemandhra are two eyes for the TFI and with both the regions seized by anxiety, it doesn't seem right in any way to celebrate the 100 years of Indian cinema. And the event cannot happen without the participation of Telugu representatives. So, in the wake of such ambiguity, it's best in everyone’s interest to postpone the celebrations for a while. I suggest that we request the event committee to take quick call on the same'
